# Identity Verification

> What happens and what you need to do.

Identity verification is required before card usage.

## How it works

1. Agent starts your verification flow.
2. You get a hosted verification link.
3. You open the link and complete:
   * ID upload
   * selfie / liveness check
4. You come back and tell the agent you are done.
5. Agent checks status and continues when approved.

## Important

* Verification is hosted and manual.
* The agent cannot do ID upload or selfie for you.
* If verification needs more info, the agent tells you exactly what to do next.

## Status language

* `approved`: you can continue.
* `pending` or `manualReview`: wait while checks run.
* `needsVerification` or `needsInformation`: action required from you.
* `denied`, `canceled`, `locked`: blocked state.
